Ke Kula ‘o Kamehameha Kapālama and our preschools and offices on O‘ahu plan to reopen and resume normal operations tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026. Pu‘u Kāhea Preschool in Wai‘anae is also expected to reopen now that power has been restored. Our preschools and office on Kaua‘i are anticipated to remain closed through Friday, Sept. 11.

Ke Kula ‘o Kamehameha Kapālama and our preschools and offices on O‘ahu will close tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, in alignment with state and county closures due to Hurricane Lowell. This is in addition to the previously announced closure of Kamehameha sites on Kaua‘i tomorrow.
Kamehameha Schools’ policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
