Kamehameha Schools Preschools

Big dreams start small

Our preschool program across the pae ‘āina helps our youngest haumāna gain the confidence to dream of how they’ll create a brighter tomorrow. Our preschools are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, which recognizes early childhood programs that meet national standards of quality requirements. Through Hawaiian culture-based education we offer learning experiences in an environment that is safe, enriching and enjoyable. By connecting our keiki to their culture and language, we lay a foundation for future success.

This year, our haumāna explored the lives of 12 Hawaiian aliʻi, learning about their leadership and legacy. Keaukaha Preschool Papa Naiʻa went on huakaʻi to the Kamehameha Statue, Naha Stone, and Lyman Museum brought those lessons to life—with keiki proudly recalling facts they’ve learned all year. Mahalo to our incredible ʻohana—your support made this ʻāina-based experience possible! 💙 Mahalo Kumu Christie sharing these photos.

Our Nānākuli preschoolers rolled up their sleeves and joined the effort to clean up the muliwai (formerly known as Stink Pond) at Nānākuli Beach! As a part of a year long project, the keiki have been making and throwing genki balls in the muliwai to improve the water quality. Thanks to collective community action, the stream is healing — and our keiki are learning that even at 3 and 4 years old, they have the power to make a difference. 💪🏽 Read the full article at www.ksbe.edu #EarthDayEveryDay #OiwiLeaders #imuakamahameha #kamehamehapreschool #Nanakuli #MalamaAina
