Experience Authentic Hawaiian Flavors at Windward Mall’s Newest Addition, Waiāhole Poi Factory

Windward Mall is excited to announce the much-anticipated arrival of Waiāhole Poi Factory, a cherished, locally owned and operated eatery steeped in Hawaiian tradition. The grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, October 28, at the Koʻolau Pāʻina Food Court and will feature traditional poi pounding demonstrations and merchandise giveaways.
“We are delighted to welcome and extend a warm aloha to Waiāhole Poi Factory,” said Cesar Topacio, vice president and senior general manager of Windward Mall. “This beloved eatery holds a special place in our community’s heart, and we take pride in championing a locally owned business rooted in the rich history of Heʻeia.”
As part of Windward Mall’s ongoing efforts to provide a diverse selection of dining options, the addition of Waiāhole Poi Factory brings the rich flavors and cultural significance of Hawaiian cuisine to the mall. Guests can look forward to experiencing Waiāhole Poi Factory’s selection of beef lū‘au, laulau, kalua pig, and the Sweet Lady of Waiāhole – a signature dessert featuring warm kūlolo and haupia ice cream.
Waiāhole Poi Factory has been a cornerstone in Heʻeia for 118 years, feeding the community, perpetuating Hawaiian culture and supporting local farmers. In 2022, the business won Kamehameha Schools’ Mahi‘ai Match-Up agricultural business plan contest.
Waiāhole Poi Factory at Windward Mall will operate Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The 599-square-foot space will be situated near the main mall entrance adjacent to another locally owned establishment, Big City Diner.
