Kapālama Kai Welcomes United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i, Bolstering Accessibility of Family-Health Services

KAPĀLAMA, HAWAI‘I (August 1, 2023) – Kamehameha Schools welcomes United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i to its tenant ‘ohana in Kapālama Kai. With over 60 years of supporting kama‘āina dealing with cerebral palsy and other disabilities, the nonprofit’s new location will open in October 2023 at the Hawai‘i News Now Multimedia Center on 420 Waiakamilo Road.
“The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i is a welcome addition to the numerous community-servicing providers in Kapālama Kai,” stated Bobbie Lau, senior asset manager at Kamehameha Schools. “Our commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of keiki and ‘ohana is unwavering, and having dedicated tenants like the United Cerebral Palsy Association reinforces a strong foundation for a resilient community that serves all kama‘āina.”
United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i, UCP- Hawai‘i, is dedicated to positively affecting the lives of children and adults with cerebral palsy or similar disabilities. UCP- Hawai‘i provides tailored services, comprehensive family support, and educational programs to prevent cerebral palsy and minimize its effects. UCP-Hawai‘i aims to empower individuals with choices and opportunities for independence, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.

Located at the block of Waiakamilo Street, Hart Street and Kalani Street, the Hawai‘i News Now Multimedia Center is a five-story building within the vibrant Kapālama Kai community. Spanning 103 acres, Kapālama Kai is undergoing a revitalization of a community with diverse businesses ranging from media, creative, and technology to food systems, healthcare services, and future residences. Its prime location ensures seamless connectivity to major thoroughfares, providing unparalleled convenience for businesses and future residents alike.
